Commissioned Works
Commissioned works are created individually in the studio. A commission begins only after the order has been placed and payment has been received. The commissioned artwork will not enter production before purchase.
Creation & Timing
Each commission requires time for planning, creation, drying or curing when applicable, finishing, packing, crating when required, and shipment. Completion and delivery timing varies according to size, material, complexity, studio schedule, and destination. Any timing provided is an estimate rather than a guaranteed completion or delivery date.
Progress Updates
Progress photographs may be sent to the client during the creation of the artwork. These updates are intended to keep the collector informed and do not create an open-ended approval or revision process.
Originality & Natural Variation
Each commission is a new original artwork created by Jason Adkins. A commissioned work may be based on the composition, atmosphere, palette, or character of an existing work, but it is not a reproduction. Natural variations in gesture, surface, texture, color, proportion, and detail are inherent to an original artwork and are part of the commission process.
Artistic Direction & Revisions
Unless specific requirements have been agreed to in writing before production begins, artistic decisions remain at the discretion of Jason Adkins. Progress images are informational and are not intended to provide unlimited revisions or approval stages.
Final Sale
Commissioned works are made specifically for the client and are final sale. Once production has begun, commissions are non-cancellable, non-returnable, and non-refundable.
Shipping & Crating
Complimentary shipping and professional crating, when required, are included within the 48 contiguous United States and Washington, D.C. Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. territories, Mexico, Canada, Europe, and other international destinations are available with additional shipping charges. Contact the studio for a shipping quote before purchase.
International duties, taxes, customs fees, and brokerage charges are the customer’s responsibility unless otherwise agreed in writing. Shipping is arranged by Jason Adkins Studio to the shipping address associated with the order.
Authenticity
Original commissioned works are signed by the artist and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.
Color & Image Representation
Photographs and progress images are intended to represent the artwork as accurately as reasonably possible. Screen settings, lighting, and photography may cause colors, textures, and reflective surfaces to appear differently from the physical work.
Copyright & Reproduction Rights
Purchase of a commissioned artwork transfers ownership of the physical artwork only. Copyright, reproduction rights, image rights, and other intellectual property rights remain with Jason Adkins unless expressly transferred in a separate written agreement.
